The first part of the AdmiralBet ABA League will end tomorrow (19:30) with a match against FMP at the "Mtel Morača Hall".
"Students" are in last place in Group A with a score of three wins and 12 losses and have the fewest wins in the entire league. And after the duel against FMP, a new group will be formed in the play-out and matches against Zadar, Vienna, Mega, Ilirija and Spartak.
"We have an extremely important game ahead of us, like many previous ones, but also those that are yet to come. We have maximum respect for FMP, because this is a team that has been playing at a very high level in the ABA League for years. At this moment, considering the situation we are in, it is extremely important that we respond to the demands of the game in both directions," said SC Derbija coach Petar Mijović.
Mijović explained what he specifically meant.
"First of all, this refers to defensive tasks and stopping their main options – Scott, Barna and Radosavljević. Of course, we must not underestimate the other players, who, when the aforementioned three are in rhythm and creating for themselves and others, can be very dangerous from the sidelines. Essentially, one-on-one defense, defensive transition and rebound control will be of crucial importance. In attack, we must be precise in targeting certain weaknesses in the FMP defense, disciplined in the game and I expect that we will transfer the good work from training to the game, and ultimately achieve victory," said Mijović.
Hunter Dean is also aware that his team has an important match ahead of them.
"I think the game will be decided in transition and rebounding on offense. If we manage to control the rhythm of the game and rebounding, I believe the match can go in our favor. I expect a fast game, in which the decision can come through play in the open court. They have three main scorers and, if we manage to stop them as best as possible, the chances will be on our side. We know how important this game is for us, especially since we are playing at home," said Din.
