Budućnost Voli basketball players have three derbies to look forward to next week, and the first one is tomorrow (18) in Podgorica against Crvena zvezda in the 18th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
"Blues" advance from first place to the Top 8 phase, where they will face duels with Partizan, Igokea, Cluj and Dubai, but before that they will have to face a big rival, who comes to Podgorica after losing to Maccabi in the Euroleague.
The Montenegrin champion has two more wins than the "red and whites" in the regional competition. Therefore, a triumph in the "Mtel Dvorana Morača" tomorrow night would mean a lot for their positioning in the standings in the next phase.
"Zvezda is in very good shape and plays solid, physical basketball, with a size advantage over us. We will have to approach the game smartly, with a lot of energy and concentration," said the "blues" coach, Andrej Žakelj, announcing the match.
Red Star won 95:79 in the first match of the season.
"This is a team of great quality. In the first game, we were tied during the first half, without some important players. We are entering the match positively and with the desire to respond to their physical play," said Žakelj.
Yogi Ferrell expects the "blues" to triumph with the help of the fans.
"I expect this to be probably the most exciting game of the season so far. We are playing at home, against a team from the Euroleague, and we know what quality they have. They have extremely good attacking players, and it is up to us to limit what they want to do in attack. I believe that, with the support of our audience, we have a good chance. We are sure to have an interesting and exciting game," said Ferel.
