Red Star basketball coach Saša Obradović said today that his team in Podgorica expects an extremely difficult duel against Buducnost, especially due to the tight schedule and demanding rhythm of the matches.
Red Star will host Buducnost on Monday (18) in the 18th round of the ABA League.
"We are facing a very difficult match, it will be the fifth match in just ten days, which is an extremely tiring rhythm for everyone. However, that must not be an excuse for us not to play a solid, strong and responsible match. Against a quality rival, we must first of all keep a cool head in the hot atmosphere that is always in Podgorica when Red Star plays," said Obradović, as reported by the club.
The upcoming match will be the 66th meeting between the two clubs in the regional league. The "Red and White" have so far recorded 36 wins, but only eight away from home in Podgorica.
Red Star basketball player Stefan Miljenović also spoke about expectations before the match, emphasizing the strength of the hosts and the importance of defensive play.
"Budućnost is an excellent team with an extremely strong home field and we are certainly expecting a tough match. The fact that this is our fifth game in a short period of time doesn't help, but I believe we will manage to refresh ourselves and be ready for the duel. The key will be solid and responsible defense," said Miljenović.
In the first match between the two teams in the sixth round of the ABA League, Red Star Belgrade won 95:79 in Belgrade.
