Partizan's basketball players will host Real Madrid tonight (20:30) in the 28th round of the Euroleague, and on Sunday (21) they will host Buducnost Voli in the first round of the top 8 phase of the AdmiralBet ABA League. However, in those matches, and for the rest of the season, the "black and whites" will be without Dilan Osetkovski.
As reported by the Serbian media, Osetkovski was suspended for doping and marijuana while he was playing in Spain for Unicaja.
Of course, the point is that Osetkovski tested positive for marijuana back in 2023, when he was playing in Spain, which is why his transfer to Barcelona failed, and his arrival in Belgrade was also questionable.
However, the American arrived at Partizan this summer. Agent, Miško Ražnatović, recently said that there is a clause in the contract that Osetkovski becomes a free agent if he is found guilty of doping and is suspended.
The National Anti-Doping Organization of Spain informed the Anti-Doping Agency of Serbia today about the punishment of Osetkovski for violating anti-doping rules.
The decision states that the basketball player is suspended until December 22nd of this year.
"KK Partizan received official information this morning that, according to the decision of the Spanish Anti-Doping Agency, Dilan Osetkovski has been suspended and is no longer able to compete. The Spanish Anti-Doping Agency forwarded this decision to FIBA, which then informed the management of all competitions," Partizan announced.
The Belgrade club added that last summer, Partizan received confirmation from the same institutions that the previous procedure had been completed in the player's favor, which brought Osetkovski to Partizan.
"On the other hand, the club has not been informed by any party to the proceedings about the conduct of the new case. This represents a new situation for the club, which is currently left without the possibility of Dilan Osetkovski playing basketball. BC Partizan will announce further steps in this case in a timely manner," the "black and white" announced.
