Žabljak has gained another important pillar of sports and youth development – the Basketball Club "Durmitor" has been officially entered into the register of sports clubs of Montenegro. This has created all the conditions for it to participate in national and international competitions.
The formation of the club was initiated by the Mayor of Žabljak, Radoš Žugić, and the Municipal Assembly supported the initiative, recognizing the importance of investing in sports and youth as the foundation of a healthy and promising community.
The club is particularly valuable because it is led by coach Bojan Nikolić, who is also the coach of the Montenegrin pioneer national team - which represents a strong incentive for quality work with young players and additional motivation for children who are just entering the world of basketball.
The club performs in blue and white colors, and already today it gathers more than 50 young participants, which clearly shows how much this initiative was needed and how much interest there is in the development of basketball in Žabljak.
An idea, launched with vision and faith in youth, is already growing into a concrete sports story that brings together the community, develops talent, and creates new opportunities.
The Municipality of Žabljak will continue to support the development of sports and the creation of conditions in which children and young people can grow, progress and realize their potential - on and off the field, the Žabljak Municipal Council said in a statement.
