Partizan bids farewell to Duško Vujošević: "To the inimitable black and white general..."

Basketball club Partizan said goodbye to the legendary Duško Vujošević, a coaching giant, who passed away today at the age of 67.

Partizan announced that it is saying goodbye to the inimitable black and white general, who will forever remain a symbol of the club.

"The Vujošević family and the Partizan Basketball Club have received the news that the legendary Duško Vujošević has passed away today, April 8th! His wife Ana and son Luka have confirmed the information that everyone feared after the inimitable black and white general's health deteriorated a few weeks ago.

With this, BC Partizan sends its condolences to the family, and the public will be informed about the time and place of the commemoration and funeral later.

DEPARTURE OF THE TEACHER AND THE MOST TROPHY COACH

Duško Vujošević was born in 1959 in Podgorica, and played basketball almost his entire life. The inimitable coach and teacher who first and foremost made his players better people, and then better basketball players, left this world on April 08, 2026 in Belgrade.

In his rich basketball career, he coached many clubs, as well as the national teams of Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Vujošević left his greatest mark on Partizan, where he began his career as a young coach working in the junior categories. With Duško, aces grew up who later became basketball legends in Serbia, Yugoslavia, Europe and the whole world. In addition to the development of players, Duško will be remembered as the most trophy-winning coach in the history of the black and whites, with as many as 12 national championship titles, five regional ABA league championship titles, five national cups, the title of winner of the international Radivoje Korac Cup and two participations in the Euroleague Final Four (European Champions Cup).

Apart from Partizan, Duško worked, created and won in other clubs: OKK Belgrade, Mladost Zemun, Oksimesa, Red Star, Brescia, Pistoia, Pesaro, Radnički, Buducnost, CSKA Moscow, Limoges, Cluj, SC Derby.

With the junior national team of the SFRY, Duško Vujošević became the European champion.

The basketball world and the black and white family are saying goodbye with sadness today to a man who will forever remain a symbol of Partizan and something that Duško himself, at one time, almost unintentionally set as the motto that Parni valjak should always follow - "BORBA BRE"," Partizan said.
