Basketball club SC Derbi said goodbye to the legendary Duško Vujošević, whose death shocked the regional basketball community.
"We received the news of the death of Duško Vujošević, one of the most important coaches and basketball authorities in this region, with great sadness and regret," the Podgorica club said in a statement.
Derby recalls his huge impact on basketball:
"During his rich and long-standing career, Vujošević left a deep and lasting mark on regional and European basketball, recognized as a coach of strong authority, knowledge and dedication to working with players. His influence went beyond results, because through his work he shaped generations of basketball players and left an indelible mark on the history of this sport."
They particularly highlight his connection with the club:
"It is a special honor for SC Derbi that Duško Vujošević was part of our club in the role of a professional consultant. His experience, advice and presence were of great importance to our team, coaching staff and the organization as a whole."
The club also emphasizes the personal loss:
"He held a special place in our club, and we experience his departure as the loss of a true friend. We will cherish his memory with special respect, aware of the mark he left and the importance he had for our club."
