Duško Vujošević carried within him an equal love and gift for literature, painting and music, as well as for basketball, which made him exceptional and unique not only in the Yugoslav, but also in the European world of sports - said Milo Đukanović.
The former president of Montenegro and the Basketball Federation of our country sent his final greetings to the legendary coach who passed away yesterday.
"His lifestyle seems to have come out of the literature of Marko Miljanov, whose region he hails from," Đukanović added on the social network X.
He emphasized that he received the news of the death of Vujošević, the first coach of the Montenegrin national basketball team, with sincere regret.
"And one of the most original greats of the famous Yugoslav basketball school, an icon of Partizan and a successful coach of a number of other teams and selections, and above all a great man and friend."
In the late 1990s, at the beginning of the golden era of Budućnost, Vujošević was engaged in the Podgorica club.
"I will always remember our gatherings and conversations from the period when he made a significant contribution to the start of our club's championship series, the most successful in its entire history," Đukanović emphasized.
He recalled that hundreds of young athletes have gone through his basketball workshop.
"Whom he also devotedly guided in turbulent times, teaching them to be people who hold moral values. His native Podgorica and his Montenegro mourn him. My sincere condolences to the family of Duško Vujošević, as well as his numerous friends and admirers," concluded Đukanović.
