Montenegrin referee Miloš Koljenšić will referee the EuroCup final match, in which Besiktas and Burg will fight for the trophy, it was announced on the official website of the competition.
It is stated that this appointment represents the crowning of an extremely successful season for Koljenšić, but also confirmation of his continuity at the highest European level.
During the current competition year, Koljenšić was involved in a large number of Eurocup matches, while he refereed 25 Euroleague matches.
"It is a great honor and recognition to be delegated for the finals of such a prestigious competition. It is confirmation that my work has been recognized on the international scene and an additional motivation to continue even stronger. This season has been extremely demanding for me, but also very successful. Refereeing a large number of games in the Euroleague and Eurocup brings enormous experience and responsibility, but also the satisfaction of being able to be part of the top level of European basketball. I owe special gratitude to my family - my wife Vesna and children Stefani, Jakov and Strahinja, who are my greatest support and without whom all of this would not be possible," said Koljenšić.
After a seven-year break, Koljenšić has been involved in refereeing domestic competitions again since last season.
"I am especially glad to be involved in domestic competitions again. I believe that Montenegrin basketball is heading in the right direction and I hope that we will all contribute to its further development together," said Koljenšić.
The first match of the Eurocup final is scheduled for April 22nd (19) in Istanbul.
In the final, it is played for two wins.
