The French basketball league has suspended Monaco player Mike James for three games for an altercation with a referee.
The French league said in a statement that James displayed "intimidating and/or threatening behavior toward the referee" during a game against Asvel on April 18, after being ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls, the Basket News portal reported.
The Monaco playmaker will therefore miss the remaining two regular season games against Paris and Boulac, as well as the first match of the quarterfinal playoff series.
James is averaging 16,6 points, 4,8 assists and 2,9 rebounds in the French league this season.
Monaco, which was eliminated by Olympiacos in the Euroleague quarterfinals, is first in the standings with a record of 22 wins and five losses.
