Žakelj: Cluj didn't surprise us, we let them play their game

The Buducnost Voli basketball team will have to play the master of the AdmiralBet ABA League quarterfinals because they were defeated by Cluj 94:90 in the second match, away.

"Blues" will play their season match against Cluj again, and the final is scheduled for next week in Podgorica.

"Congratulations to Cluj, they deservedly won. They played their game, because we allowed them to, we conceded too many points. That's the main thing - without aggression, without contact, you can't beat Cluj. We have to look at ourselves, to analyze, to be ready to at least 'fight', to play the masterstroke aggressively," said Budućnost coach Andrej Žakelj after the match, adding that Oleksandar Kovlijar missed this match due to a foot injury.

Žakelj pointed out that Cluj did not surprise his team.

"There weren't too many mistakes in terms of turnovers, but there were mistakes. I look more at defense than offense, because we gave up 90 points. We didn't play offense as we agreed, we didn't attack who we were supposed to. Defense, pressure on the ball was non-existent. Cluj didn't surprise us, we allowed them to play their game," Žakelj pointed out.

The future is now under pressure.

"Pressure is present in every game, it's an integral part. We have to turn that pressure into a positive side. We have to prepare for the next game," concluded Žakelj.
