The basketball players of Buducnost Voli are facing another match of the season, again against Cluj - the "blues" will welcome the Romanian team on Tuesday (20) in the quarterfinals of the AdmiralBet ABA League and have no room for error.
After winning the first match (86:73), the "blues" were defeated in the second duel (94:90), so the series was returned to Podgorica where the decisive battle will follow.
Buducnost played their Eurocup match of the season against Cluj in Podgorica in March. The Montenegrin champion was defeated then (100:82), so tomorrow they have a chance to take some revenge on the Romanians for that elimination.
"We are aware of the importance of this game and we must be maximally prepared for it. As I said after the second game, we need to be more aggressive, faster, tougher and more focused," said the "blues" coach, Andrej Žakelj, in the match announcement.
This will be the sixth duel between Buducnost and Cluj this season.
"We know everything about them, just as they know about us, so the basic things I talked about will decide things. I hope we will be at the level we need to be and that we will eventually win," Žakelj pointed out.
Rashid Sulamon is aware of the importance of the match.
"We are looking forward to a game full of energy, emotion and intensity. This is the game of the season. We know that our fans will come with the desire to see a team that plays with heart and that is exactly what we plan to show on the field. We want to give everything for the club, the fans, the city and ultimately come away with a victory," said Sulamon.
The American looked back on the previous duel.
"The last game was very tough and we expect something similar this time. I think both teams can shoot much better than in previous matches and I believe that the shooting percentage will be at a higher level this time. I also expect a great fight and a lot of contact. In order to win, we will have to be maximally focused on defense and I believe that this segment will make the difference," said Sulamon.
The "blue" basketball player invited fans to come to the hall.
"Playing in front of our fans gives us extra confidence. 'Morača' is a fortress for us, and the energy from the stands always brings us extra adrenaline. I believe that the support of the fans will be what can bring us extra momentum and make the difference in a game like this," concluded Sulamon.
