The new coach of the Podgorica Bemaks basketball club is Marko Sekulić, the club from the capital announced.

Sekulić is the coach of the senior team for the second time, having been the head coach in the second half of last season, when he succeeded Boško Radović. Now he will succeed Miodrag Kadija.

"His return to the senior team bench is not just a coaching rotation, but a clear signal of a new, precisely defined direction for the club. The club's management has set a priority - Podgorica Bemax becomes a development base relying exclusively on younger players. After the season in which he served as coordinator of all junior teams, Sekulić returns to lead the first team, which he led at the end of the 2024/2025 season, with the task of implementing the club's vision into action," the club explained.

The decision of Podgorica's leaders to entrust this mandate to Sekulić stems from the fact that the new first team coach knows the potential within the club's system best.

"The management's position is clear and unique - Podgorica Bemax must be recognized as an environment in which young players, primarily from Montenegro, are affirmed. Our plan is to bring exclusively younger basketball players who, through hard work in great conditions, and through the senior competition rank, will get room for progress. We have a challenging job ahead of us, but I am sure that this is a new beginning from which the club will benefit a lot," explained Marko Sekulić, who has already proven that he knows how to recognize and "throw" young talents to the forefront, for the club's website.

During his previous tenure, when he took over the team in December 2024, he managed to promote several new faces who are an important part of the basketball scene today.

In the coaching staff, in addition to team manager Nikola Bulatović and fitness coach Nemanja Marković, Sekulić hired another returnee – Petar Kusovac, who began his coaching career last season in Podgorica Bemaks, where he led the pioneering selection, and then celebrated survival in the elite rank of the First Montenegrin League with Danilovgrad.
