ABA League about the Red Star and Cedevita match: Kardum's refereeing is below average

Red Star basketball players defeated Cedevita-Olimpija (95:86) in the quarterfinals of the AdmiralBet ABA League, and after the match, the "dragons" coach Zvezdan Mitrović said that it was a defeat for the sport, alluding to the refereeing at the game.

Red Star had 20 more free throws than their rivals in that game (35 versus 15), and after the match, the "red and white" responded to Mitrović and said in a statement that they should have had 50 free throws.

And finally, the ABA League also spoke out, stating in a statement to the clubs that the officiating of Luka Kardum, one of the three referees at that match, was below average.

"Dear, according to Article 18. Evaluation and selection of referees from the Rules of Procedure for Referees, at the third game of the quarterfinals of the ABA League play-off series Crvena zvezda - Cedevita Olimpija played on May 15, 2026, referee Kardum Luka was given a below average rating by the refereeing instructor. Based on this rating, the referee is subject to the penalty from Article 20. Sanctions from the Rules of Procedure for Referee Organizations," the ABA League announced.

Red Star will play against Partizan in the semi-finals.
