SC Derbija basketball players won the Montenegrin junior championship title, after defeating the local team Jedinstvo in the final of the tournament in Bijelo Polje only after overtime (94:93), thanks to a basket by Marko Popović in the last second of the game.
An exciting match was seen in the "Nikoljac" hall during the entire 45 minutes, both sides had good moments, they alternated in the lead, lost and regained the lead, until the very end. Such a match was almost doomed to overtime and that is what happened, because after the last quarter it was tied, 79:79. Not even the additional 5 minutes were devoid of drama, and Jedinstvo was close to triumph in the very finish. In the last attack of SC Derbi, however, after a missed shot by Dujaković, Marko Popović scored the winning basket from an offensive jump shot, to the great joy of the Students, and the sadness of the also excellent Jedinstvo. The duel of the two best teams from the league section, with the same result (16-2), thus fully justified the expectations at the end of an interesting junior season.
Popović was also the most efficient player in SC Derby with 31 points, along with 12 rebounds. Vuk Ivelja and Balša Mugoša scored 14 points each, and Ilija Radović scored 13. For Jedinstvo, captain Milovan Milić scored 32 points, including 7 three-pointers, and also had 10 rebounds. Matija Furundžić scored 29 points, and Ognjen Jokić scored 20.
Third place was won by the basketball players of Sutjeska, with a victory over Podgorica Bemaks 81:77, in another exciting game in which Vasilije Marić scored 26 points for Nikšić, but the most useful was captain Luka Nikolić with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and even 7 steals. Three players stood out in the Podgorica team - Luka Vukadinović with 23 points, Aleksa Ćupić with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists, and Relja Rajković with 20 points.
The MVP of the tournament was declared Jedinstvo captain Milovan Milić, who was presented with the award by the director of national teams at KSCG Dragan Vukčević, and the best scorer was Luka Vukadinović from Podgorica Bemaks, who was presented with the trophy by the competition commissioner Nataša Popović. The cup was presented to the winning team by a member of the KSCG Board of Directors, Hasan Ramović.
