Buducnost denies Jovanović is leaving: Attempt to spin certain management agencies, Jovanović has a contract

The Budućnost Voli basketball club issued a press release stating that the information from St. John's University, which introduced Đorđi Jovanović as a new player today, is incorrect.

Earlier today, St. John's University announced Jovanović's arrival on its official X platform page and Instagram, while a statement from coach Rick Pitino was also posted on the website.

In a statement, Buducnost points out that Jovanović has a valid contract with the club for the next season, and that Buducnost has not held any talks with the aforementioned college, nor has it signed any transfer agreement.

It is added that the published allegations are incorrect and represent only an attempt at spin by certain management agencies.

"Regarding the incorrect information that appeared in the media today, BC Buducnost VOLI denies the allegations about Đorđije Jovanović's departure to St. John's College. We would like to emphasize that Đorđije Jovanović has a valid contract with our club for the next season, and that the club has not held any talks with the aforementioned college, nor has it signed any transfer agreement. We believe that the published allegations are incorrect and that they only represent an attempt at spin by certain management agencies, which certainly does not contribute to the correct and professional relations that should exist between clubs and agents," said Buducnost.

Buducnost adds that "we see the publication of such information solely as an attempt to destabilize our team before important matches in the ABA League semifinals."

Buducnost will play the first match of the ABA League semi-finals against Dubai on Thursday (18) in Zenica.
