For Budućnost Voli coach Andrej Žakelj, the loss to Dubai was easy to analyze.
It simply didn't work for more than 30 minutes, so the 104:90 defeat is an indication of how dominant Dubai was.
"We were far from what we wanted. Without aggression, toughness and a fight, you can't play against Dubai. They are physically strong and dominant, if you don't fight them - it won't work. We didn't do that and that's why there was such a difference. There was a reaction in attack, the ball "traveled" a little more, we played as a team and that gave some results. We have to analyze, and we know what we need to do," said Žakelj.
If he wants to win the ABA League vice-champion title, he has to be much better, more aggressive...
"The players have shown during the season in matches against better teams that they can do it, but only if they are at their maximum in terms of energy, focus, contact... It's impossible without that. You can't work tactically if you're not ready. We need to rest first, it's a tough road and get ready for the fight, everything else comes after that," added the Slovenian.
Does Buducnost have reason to appeal the trial?
"You have to adapt to the criteria. At one point I thought it wasn't equal, but that doesn't matter. We can look for an alibi, but I look at my team first, I know what we didn't do right. The refereeing is what it is, I don't want to comment on it, the bigger problem was our game," Žakelj concluded.
