New York Knicks coach Mike Brown criticized the officiating in Game 3 of the NBA Finals today, after San Antonio shot 24 free throws in the second half and the Knicks only eight.
"I never thought I'd see that in an NBA Finals game, and I saw it today," Braun said.
The Spurs won 115-111 at Madison Square Garden to cut the Knicks' lead to 2-1 in the Finals. It was New York's first loss in 46 days, ending their 13-game playoff winning streak.
Brown gave the Spurs credit for their play and cited some things the Knicks did poorly, but also said the officiating made the difference.
"San Antonio is a great team. They're a great team, okay. Our chances will be significantly reduced if they make 24 free throws in Game 4 compared to our eight. Maybe we were making fouls. Maybe. But so were they," the Knicks coach said.
San Antonio finished the game with a score of 25/32 from the free throw line, while the Knicks had 18/22.
Game 4 of the NBA Finals will be played on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, again in New York.
