Junior national team coach Petar Mijović announced a larger list of players who will compete for the European Championship B Division, which will be held in Rijeka and Opatija from July 24 to August 2. The list includes 25 basketball players, who will gather in Podgorica on June 27.
The national team will also play four friendly matches as part of the preparations - two against Bosnia and Herzegovina away and two against Kosovo at home. Montenegro will compete in Group A at Eurobasket with Croatia, Romania, Switzerland and Norway, and out of a total of 22 teams at the championship, the three top teams will advance to Division A. Our juniors have won the European B Championship twice so far - in 2013 in Strumica, when we first qualified for the A division, and three years later in Skopje.
