Bokan visits FIBA ​​Europe headquarters in Munich at Garbahose's invitation

The delegation of the Basketball Federation of Montenegro, led by President Dragan Bokan, is on a two-day visit to the FIBA ​​Europe headquarters in Munich, at the invitation of FIBA ​​Europe President Jorge Garbahose.

As stated in the KSCG statement, the president and his associates are having additional meetings with the leaders of FIBA ​​Europe for the purpose of additional implementation of projects and ideas that will be presented during the visit.

"During their stay at the headquarters of the umbrella basketball institution in Europe, the President of the Federation and his associates, Secretary General Darko Ivanović and Board of Directors member Đuro Ostojić, in addition to talks with Garbahos and FIBA ​​Europe Executive Director Kamil Novak, will have additional meetings with the aim of more comprehensive cooperation between KSCG and FIBA ​​Europe, for the purpose of implementing projects and ideas that will be presented during the visit.

President Dragan Bokan has already raised issues important for the Basketball Federation of Montenegro with Garbahos during the visit of the head of FIBA ​​Europe to our Federation in March this year, which has now been discussed in more detail.

The focus was on the status of club and national team competitions under the auspices of FIBA ​​Europe. In this context, the possibilities of reforming the FIBA ​​window and national team calendar were discussed, as well as the need to protect the interests of smaller countries in the new European club structure.

There was also discussion about the necessary support of FIBA ​​Europe to small federations in player development, as well as the protection of clubs and federations that are recognized for the development of young players, with special attention to the financial sustainability of national associations.

Representatives of the KSCG also raised the issue of a special program for the development of women's basketball in the Balkans, as well as the idea of ​​a regional center for the education of coaches and referees. Finally, there was talk of the development of 3x3 competitions in Montenegro.

"The visit of the KSCG delegation to Munich is the third meeting between Dragan Bokan and Jorge Garbahose, after the European Championship in Finland and the previous visit of the FIBA ​​Europe leaders to Montenegro," the Basketball Association of Montenegro said in a statement.
