United States President Donald Trump will not attend the upcoming fourth game of the NBA championship series between New York and San Antonio, after he was greeted with boos at Madison Square Garden last night.
Whether the boos caused him to cancel his visit to the next game or not, only well-known NBA insider and ESPN journalist Shams Charania stated that Trump was prevented from attending the fourth game due to his "overcrowded schedule." During the singing of the American anthem before the start of the third game, Trump was shown on large screens in the hall, after which the audience in Madison Square Garden loudly booed the American president.
The fans' outcry stopped when Trump was replaced on the screens by an image of the American flag.
Trump is, by the way, the first sitting US president to ever attend an NBA finals game.
New York lost in Madison (115:111), which allowed San Antonio to reduce the deficit in the total score to 2:1.
