Croatia has a new basketball champion - Ciobna defeated Zadar (82:75) tonight at the "Krešimir Ćosić" hall, in the fifth match of the final series, and became champion for the 21st time in history, and the first time in four years.
The "Wolves" ended the dominance of Zadar, who had been lifting the domestic championship trophy since 2023.
Zadar opened the game better, had a six-point lead after 10 minutes (21:15), and maintained the lead until the break (36:36).
Cibona woke up in the third quarter, when they caught up, and 24 seconds before the end of the quarter, Justin Roberson hit a three-pointer, so the teams entered the final quarter tied (55:55).
The team from Zagreb made excellent three-point shots in the last quarter, had a seven-point lead in the last three minutes, and managed to maintain the lead until the end and win the trophy.
The most efficient player for Zadar was Montenegrin basketball player Vladimir Mihailović, who finished the game with 27 points, two rebounds and one assist. He was followed by Lovro Mazalin with 13 points.
Cibona's best player was Roberson with 17 points, four rebounds and two assists.
