Juniors defeated twice by Croatia, shooting did not serve Dragan Prga's team

The Montenegrin women's junior basketball team played two friendly matches against Croatia in Gospić, as part of preparations for the European Championship A Division, which will be played in Stockholm from August 1st.

The team of coach Dragan Prga lost the first match 84:55, and in the second they had a better performance, although they were also defeated, 70:61. Upon returning to Podgorica, Blanka Jovović, Marija Sekulović and Milena Vujović joined the national team.

In the first game in Gospić, both teams did not shine in shooting, and Montenegro had only 34% success from the field. There were a lot of turnovers on both sides (32-30), but Croatia was more successful in assists (22-7) and especially in rebounding, as it had as many as 60 caught balls, of which 26 were offensive. In our team, eight players shared the most minutes, and the most efficient were Sofija Vučković and Maša Kaluđerović with nine points each, while Mia Kovačević scored one point less.

In the second match, our team again did not serve the shot, but they improved their rebounding game, with 16 offensive ones, although they also allowed their rivals a large number (20 offensive ones out of 51 in total). Montenegro had some good moments this time, in the first and especially the last quarter, which our team won 21:12, thus mitigating the defeat. Lucija Baković stood out for our team with a double-double of 13 points and rebounds, Mia Kovačević scored 10 points, and Vanja Kaluđerović 9,

By the end of the preparations, our juniors will play two more control matches with the Slovak national team in Podgorica.
