Four Montenegrin teams in the ABA2 league, competition system changed again

At yesterday's ABA League Assembly, numerous decisions were made, including the adoption of the competition calendar for the ABA2 League.

Montenegro will be represented in this competition by Mornar, Podgorica, Primorje 1945 and Sutjeska.

As every season, the competition system has changed for the next one. 17 teams participate in the ABA2 league - three groups of four teams, and one of five. The first-placed teams advance directly to the quarterfinals, while the second and third-placed teams from each group play in a play-in.

The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are played in two best-of-two matches. The winner goes directly to the AdmiralBet ABA League, the defeated finalist participates in the play-off.

Mornar basketball players are in Group A, which also includes Vojvodina, Borac from Banja Luka and Magžari from Skopje.

Podgorica is in Group B, where TFT, Šenčur, Sloboda from Tuzla and Hercegovac are also located.

Sutjeska is in Group C, and its rivals are MZT, Sloboda from Užice and Triglav from Kranj.

Primorje 1945 is in Group D with Zlatibor, Cedevita Junior and Basket Živinice.
