Nikola Mirotic is continuing his career at Valencia, the Spanish club confirmed this morning.
On Saturday, social media was abuzz, the story about Mirotic and Buducnost was spreading, and the president of the Montenegrin champion, Dragan Bokan, told "Vijesti" that he had a drink with Mirotic, who told him that he was primarily interested in the Euroleague.
"We talked about various topics - about private matters, and of course about basketball. We also talked about Nikola's Buducnost, about his career. He said he was waiting and that he was primarily interested in the Euroleague," Bokan told "Vijesti" on Saturday.
And then this morning Valencia officially announced that they had signed the 35-year-old basketball player. Mirotic signed a contract with the Spanish team until the end of this season.
"Hello everyone in Valencia! They told me you were looking for a back four, so here I am," said Mirotic upon his arrival in Spain.
The player joins Valencia as a free agent, having played for Monaco last season. However, the Monte Carlo club disbanded the team due to financial problems, leaving the winger free to choose a new club. In the end, he chose Valencia.
Last season, Mirotic averaged 11 points, 4,4 rebounds and 1,4 assists in the Euroleague for Monaco.
In his career, he played for Real Madrid, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, Barcelona and Olimpia Milan.
During his EuroLeague career so far, Mirotic has averaged 14,4 points, 5,2 rebounds and 1,2 assists.
