One of the best basketball players of Maccabi from Tel Aviv, Sonny Wims, is about to be suspended by FIBA, because he refused to undergo a doping test, according to Israeli media.
In addition, the 30-year-old American did not even appear at the team's training session today, and due to the two reasons mentioned, he is facing dismissal from Maccabi.
Unlike Wims, his teammates Viktor Rad and Gal Meckel appeared at the doping test at the invitation of FIBA.
Wims averaged 11,6 points and 3,3 rebounds in the very bad season of the "Pride of Israel" in the Euroleague. He arrived in Tel Aviv this summer as a big reinforcement, and previously he played in the NBA league for Denver, Toronto, Phoenix and Philadelphia, and in Europe for Žalgiris and CSKA Moscow.
