The President of the Boxing Association of Montenegro, Aleksandar Klemenko, presented today awards and plaques to the most deserving for another successful year in this sport.
And after more than two decades, she brought Montenegro a medal from a major competition in the senior competition, as Tomislav-Bato Đinović earned bronze in the lightweight category at the European Championship in Belgrade. Đinović (BK Zlaticanin) is the best senior, and the European silver medalist under 22 and participant of the Olympic Games in Paris, Bojana Gojković, is a senior.
Her club, BK Budva, was also the most successful this year, and it produced the best junior player, Vasilije Kujundžić. The best junior is Adila Mušović (BK Feniks), and her clubmate Ena Hot is the best schoolgirl. Nikola Raičević received a plaque for the European bronze, as well as the title of the best schoolboy, while his clubmate from BK Nikšić, Miloš Roganović, was the best in the youth class. The best pioneer is a member of the Rožaj Universe, Ramo Hot.
Even though his gym is 37 kilometers away from his native Bukovica, Ramo hasn't missed a single training session in a year!
The best coach in 2024 is Momčilo Zlaticanin from BK Zlaticanin, while the most successful referee is Blažo Jabučanin, who with three stars is qualified to judge the Olympic boxing program.
"I hope that next year there will be even more of us here and that there will be more awards and plaques. I am especially proud of the men's senior medal of Đinović, the first for me. Although not for Montenegro, but then I was not in the Federation and this "The medal fills me with pride. And I'm proud because my friends are winning medals, because I've been through a lot together with these athletes and I'm happy to be standing next to them," said Klemenko.
He got a new mandate today and there is no dilemma.
"The Boxing Association will follow only and exclusively the interest of Montenegrin boxers. These are primarily competitions under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee and we will be a member of the association recognized by the IOC. It is true that the current situation is a bit confused, there were mistakes in the IBA as well, but it has competitions that are we need. We'll see, we have to wait for the current problems to unfold," Klemenko concluded.
