The Montenegrin jiu-jitsu national team finished its performance at the European Championships for fighters under 16 and 18 in Larnaca with nine medals - one gold and four silver and bronze medals.

The European Champion was Elena Jovanović, who was undisputed in the over 63 kilogram category, in the ne waza discipline, in the under 16 competition.

Silver medals were won in the under-16 category by Filip Milošević (under 69), Danilo Božović (under 40), Dino Haznadar (under 48) and Martin Lučev (under 62) in the under-18 category.

The bronze medalists were Andrija Lekić (under 16) in the ne waza discipline in the over 77 category and in the under 18 fights Vladana Popović (over 70), Balša Đurišić under 77 and Andrija Golić in the over 85 kilogram category.

The President of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Miloš Ašanin, said that these successes confirm that the effort pays off and that the future of Montenegrin Jiu-Jitsu is bright.

"I would especially like to congratulate the national team's coaching staff and our coaches, who worked tirelessly in training and preparations and made a great contribution to the successful results of our competitors in Larnaca," said Ašanin.

The Larnaca Championship brought together more than 2.000 competitors from almost all European countries, including 22 from Montenegro.
