Briton Daniel Dubois and Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk will box for the title of undisputed world heavyweight champion on July 19 at Wembley Stadium in London, the BBC reported today.
Dubois is the International Boxing Federation (IBF) champion, while Usyk holds the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Council (WBC) belts.
Usyk is undefeated in his 23 fights, and defeated Dubois in August 2023.
The Ukrainian boxer became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era in May 2024 after defeating Tyson Fury.
Usyk surrendered the IBF belt ahead of a rematch with Fury in December, making Dubois the IBF champion. The British boxer defended that title with a victory over Anthony Joshua last September.
Dubois was scheduled to defend the belt a second time, against Joseph Parker in February, but was forced to withdraw from that fight due to illness.
"This is the fight I wanted and asked for, and now I get a chance for revenge. I should have won the first fight, but I was prevented by the judges' assessment, so I will not make a mistake this time in front of my people at the national stadium in my hometown. I am now a superior and more dangerous fighter and Usyk will find out for himself," Dubois said.
The last Briton to be the undisputed champion was Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Usyk's last fight was in December, when he defeated Fury for the second time.
"I'm grateful to God for the opportunity to fight for the undisputed champion title once again. Thank you for keeping my belt safe, Daniel, now I want it back," Usyk said.
