Montenegrin judo will be represented at the World Championships in the "Laslo Pap" hall in Budapest by two fighters, Jusuf Nurković in the 66 kilogram category and Jahja Nurkovioc in the 73 kilogram skeleton.
556 competitors from 93 countries have registered to participate, and in the first round Jusuf Nurković will fight against Bulgarian Bojan Jotov, while Jahja Nurković is free to start by the will of the draw. His rival in the second round a day later will be the better of the duel between Brazilian Danijela Sarahin and German Igor Vandtke.
The IJF Congress was held in Budapest on the eve of the biggest event. The President of the World Judo Federation, Marius Vizer, will continue to hold this position for the next four years, it was decided at the Congress of the association. Vizer received the unanimous support of the Congress delegates.
"Once again and always, I thank you for your trust, loyalty, cooperation and support. You can be sure that the new IJF Executive Committee and I will be more dedicated, even more motivated than in the past, to work better and better for the future of judo," said Vizer.
A new Executive Committee was also elected, and Max-Hervé Georges, IJF Director for International Partnerships, received unanimous support. The Montenegrin Judo Federation was represented at the Congress by President Jovica Rečević and Secretary General Dragan Mrvaljević.
