Montenegrin taekwondo athletes finished their performance at the G1/E2 tournament in Paris with five medals, two gold and three silver.
They won third place in the overall standings, and first place in the senior women's competition.
Gold was won by senior member of the Podgorica club S3, Anđela Berišaj, in the 73 kg category, who returned after recovering from an injury.
On her way to the finals, she defeated the representatives of France and Germany, while in the match for the gold medal, she was better than the representative of Switzerland, Laura Heldner.
Her sister Andrea Berishaj was stopped in the finals in the 67 kg category.
In the semi-final she defeated the representative of France, and in the final she was defeated by Halid Hadad from Algeria.
Zinedin Bećović also had to settle for a silver medal in the 74 kilogram category.
The competitor from the Podgorica club S3 was the first seed and had a free start, while in the second and third rounds he defeated two Frenchmen.
He was defeated in the final by Abdelhamida Abduni (Morocco).
Enes Dušku, a junior from Ulcinj, also won a gold medal in the 68 kilogram category.
In the first round, he defeated an opponent from Great Britain, while in the next three rounds he was better than his rival from France.
In the gold medal match, he defeated local fighter Eravan Žile.
Junior Amela Nuti from Ulcinj reached the finals, but in the end she had to settle for a silver medal.
On her way to the finals, she achieved victories against competitors from Italy and Portugal, and in the final match she was stopped by the representative of France, Sadio Kamon.
The tournament in the suburbs of Paris brought together more than 1200 competitors from 56 countries around the world.
"A great half-season is behind us. We had a lot of activities with all age categories and the most important thing is that injuries have bypassed us. We have a short break ahead of us, and then preparations for the continuation of the competition will follow," said the coach of the Podgorica club S3 Vlado Stanišić.
He emphasized that the tournament in Paris is another confirmation that Montenegrin taekwondo is making its way to the place it deserves.
