Montenegrin boxing representative Tomislav - Bato Đinović has finished his performance at the World Championships in Liverpool. The member of BK Zlatičanin lost in the round of 60 of the 3 kg category, by a split decision of the judges, 2:XNUMX, to Dutchman Mahmud Al Čabtun.
Đinović started the fight well and completely dominated the first round, in which he knocked down the Dutchman, gaining the advantage from all five judges. The second round was even, but the judges gave the advantage to the Dutchman - 3:2, and in the third, our boxer faltered, which his rival took advantage of, deciding in his favor on all five judges' scores and ultimately winning with 3.2.
Unlike Đinović, Bojana Gojković advanced to the round of 57 of the XNUMX kg category the day before, after defeating Mexican Diana Paloma Perez by unanimous decision.
In the round of 16, Bojana will face Uzbekistan's Kumorabo Mamajonova on Sunday (tomorrow), who eliminated Laila-Carlisle-Ali from New Zealand in the round of 32.
The World Championship in Liverpool is the first under the auspices of the new international federation - World Boxing, which is also historic, because for the first time the male and female boxing elite are performing together at the same event.
554 boxers have registered for the championship in Liverpool - 329 in the men's competition and 225 in the women's competition from 68 countries around the world, in a total of 20 categories - ten for men and ten for women.
