Montenegrin judokas Novo Raičević and Danilo Pantić won bronze medals at the European Cup in Conegliano, Italy.
In the 90 kg category, Raičević eliminated Dutchman Floris Den Hartog and Italians Mattia Azzori and Lorenzo Parodi, while in the semi-final match he was defeated by Ukrainian Artyom Bubir, who later won the gold medal.
In the fight for the bronze medal, the Montenegrin fighter was better than Levani Zamerashvili from Georgia.
In the 100 kg category, Pantić defeated domestic judoka Mikele Valeri and Ivo Dargolc from Argentina on his way to the semifinals, only to be stopped by Italian Tomaz Fava on his way to the finals.
In the fight for the medal, he defeated the Italian Enrico Bergamelli.
The tournament in Italy brought together 310 competitors from 37 countries.
"With two medals won at the European Open, our competitors, from performance to performance, are truly confirming that we are on the right path and that we are increasingly competitive on the European and world stage," the Judo Federation said in a statement.
