Montenegrin professional boxer Zvjezdan Vidaković will box tomorrow in his city - Herceg Novi - for the WBC Silver international belt, against German boxer of Turkish origin, Sahan Ajban.
The spectacle, under the slogan "Battle for the Title" (A Gift to the City), starts at 19 p.m. at SC Igalo. Vidaković will fight for the cruiserweight belt in the most prestigious version in 10 rounds.
At the official weighing in at the Hotel "Palmon Bay" in Igalo, the boxer from Herceg Novi weighed 90,400 kilograms, while Ajban was 200 grams heavier - 90,600 kg, which confirms that the audience can expect an extremely even and physically demanding duel.
More precisely, a "clash of the titans" if you judge by their fights and record so far - Vidaković has all 17 wins as a professional, while Ajban has recorded 16 wins in the same number of fights, 14 of which by knockout, and only one loss.
At today's press conference, Vidaković clearly stated that the most important match of his career is ahead of him.
- This is the match of my career. I want to show that even at this age I can fight at the highest level and that I deserve a place in the Top 20 in the WBC cruiserweight rating. My goal is clear - to fight for the world champion title. I worked hard with my coaching staff and had top-notch sparring with Milorad - Mićo Gajović and Dilan Prašović, so I am ready for the biggest challenge of my career. Although I have an extremely strong and difficult boxer as my rival, with a counterguard, I believe that I can, with the support of the fans in the Igalo gym, achieve victory and continue to perform at my maximum in the professional ring - said Zvjezdan Vidaković.
His rival, Sahan Ajban, is also optimistic, pointing out that he is extremely motivated and believes that he will celebrate in Igalo.
- I am extremely motivated to beat the boxer in his own ring. I greatly appreciate and respect Vidaković and his invincibility, which is an additional motivation for me to do my best and inflict his first defeat. I am maximally prepared and believe that I will take the belt to Germany - said Ajban.
Match supervisor and famous manager Todor Zečević emphasized the importance of this event for Montenegrin sports.
- It is a great thing that our fighters have the opportunity to fight for such prestigious titles. Herceg Novi once again confirms that it is a city of sports and a great host of major events - believes Zečević.
