The Sports Inspectorate of Montenegro has annulled the decision of the Board of Directors of the Karate Federation of Montenegro to suspend Toko Raičević, an international referee with the highest title in the European Karate Federation - EKF.
The Karate Federation suspended Raičević on February 19, 2026, according to him, in a mutual communication on one of the social networks.
Raičević claims that he was informed of the decision on annulment by going to the premises of the relevant Inspectorate on April 6, 2026, although the Karate Federation's obligation regarding the decision of the competent state body was to inform him of the decision of the Sports Inspector within five days.
"The Inspection's decision was made on March 19, and the KSCG Administration was obliged to inform me of the inspection's decision within five days, that is, by March 24, 2026. They have not done so to this day, and attempts to obtain information at the Federation's office have been unsuccessful, or it was locked. It is disappointing that instead of the parent Federation, I have to personally inform myself at the Inspectorate! The way the new Administration operates, or at least thinks it can operate, is contrary to the organization's Statute, the current regulations and the Law on Sports, and is also in conflict with the regulations and ethical codes on which modern international sport is based. I believe that the way the new Federation operates is unsustainable, and I am ready to defend my rights before the CIS - the international court in Lausanne," Raičević emphasized and added:
"I have dedicated my entire life to this ancient sport, as a competitor, national team member, coach or referee, and I will not give up the code of this ancient sport without a fight. And how many problems, through ignorance or bad intentions, the new KSCG Administration is creating, is evidenced by numerous reactions and the scandal in the announcement, that new selectors were elected in violation of the Statute and Competition, even though the mandates of the old convocation, recognized for the best results in the history of Montenegrin karate, had not expired. The Montenegrin public has already been informed about this," concluded Raičević.
"Vijesti" has learned that inquiries about the dismissals were sent to the Karate Federation of Montenegro by the dismissed selectors, and that in the event of unsatisfactory solutions, they will also seek their rights before the competent state authorities.
