Montenegrin taekwondo national team member Andrea Berišaj won a bronze medal at the European Senior Championships in Munich.
Berishaj, as the sixth seed in the 67 kg category, had a bye in the first round.
In the second, she defeated the representative of Ukraine Alisa Pavlenko, while in the fight for the medal she was better than the Italian Giulia Maggiore.
In the semifinals, she was stopped by two-time world champion, Hungarian Luana Marton.
Coach Vlado Stanišić said that Berišaj achieved an exceptional result for Montenegrin sports.
"We repeated the result and proved that last year's European and world medals were not a coincidence. Institutional support, hard work and effort, great investment and constant progress produce results," Stanišić told the MINA agency.
Vasilije Peruničić will take to the field tomorrow, and Vasilije Nestorović and Anđela Berišaj will compete on Wednesday. Zinedin Bećović will compete on the last day of the European Championship.
The championship brought together fighters from 47 European countries, and 21 competitors were registered in the Andrea Berishaj category.
