The Montenegrin boxing team will participate in the 65th international tournament "Belgrade Winner", one of the strongest and most prestigious tournaments in the region, which will once again bring together top fighters from Europe and the world in Obrenovac.
Montenegro will be represented by three boxers – Bojana Gojković and Tomislav Đinović in the 60 kg category, as well as Miloš Roganović in the 70 kg category. The national team's professional staff includes head coach Nikola Ružić and coaches Boško Drašković and Momčilo Zlatičanin, who will lead the Montenegrin expedition at the prestigious competition.
The draw has been made, and the Montenegrin competitors are facing extremely difficult duels.
Bojana Gojković will start the competition in the quarterfinals, where she will face Anhelina Nekrasova from Ukraine. If she defeats the Ukrainian boxer, she will fight in the semifinals against the winner of the match between Esmanur Lok from Turkey and Irma Testa from Italy.
Tomislav-Bato Đinović will face Jovan Žikić from Serbia in the round of 16. A victory would earn him a quarterfinal clash against the winner of the duel between Oleh Čuliajić from Ukraine and Erik Arstamiyan from Armenia.
Miloš Roganović begins his competition in the 70 kg category with a round of 16 match against Çem Kay from Turkey. If he wins, he will face the winner of the match between Cristian Karol Harpula from Italy and Daniil Kržnánsky from Ukraine in the next round.
The strength of this year's "Belgrade Winner" is best demonstrated by the fact that boxers from 23 countries will compete in the tournament: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Canada, Cuba, Czech Republic, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, North Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Wales, the Philippines and Montenegro.
Montenegrin national team coach Nikola Ružić points out that the team faces a great challenge, but also an opportunity to prove themselves on a strong international stage.
"It is a tournament with a huge tradition and extremely strong competition. Our boxers have worked well in the preparation period and I believe they can represent Montenegro worthily. The draw was not in our favor, but there are no easy opponents in tournaments like this. I expect maximum fighting spirit and a good performance from all our competitors," said Ružić.
Top-notch boxing and fierce competition are expected, and the Montenegrin national team will have the opportunity to compete with some of the most talented boxers of today.
