Montenegrin boxer Miloš Roganović won the gold medal at the 63rd international Belgrade Winner tournament.
He won the final match of the 70 kg category against Kazakhstani national team member Nurbek Murslali.
The member of BK Nikšić achieved the most brilliant award after spectacular performances throughout the tournament, and the crowning achievement was a great victory in the final against a fighter who was considered one of the main favorites of the tournament.
In the final match, Roganović showed incredible maturity, calmness, and champion character.
Despite the pressure and quality of his opponent, the Montenegrin ace imposed the rhythm from the first gong, controlled the fight and demonstrated superb technique, physical fitness and fighting spirit.
His confidence was particularly impressive in key moments of the match, when he fearlessly entered into exchanges with the strong Kazakh and brought the crowd to its feet with attractive moves.
Winning a gold medal at one of the most prestigious international tournaments is confirmation of the immense talent that Roganović possesses, but also proof that Montenegrin boxing is gaining an athlete ready for the biggest stage.
At only 19 years old, he showed that he can compete on equal terms with the best fighters in the region and Europe.
Coach Boško Drašković said that this is just the beginning of great things for the young boxer.
"Roganović played the tournament at a top level. In the final, he showed tremendous courage, discipline and quality against an extremely strong opponent from Kazakhstan. At the age of 19, winning a tournament like this, which he achieved after four victories, is no small feat and it is confirmation that he has a great future ahead of him," said Drašković.
Roganović, together with Bojana Gojković and Tomislav Đinović, continues intensive preparations for the next big challenges - the Mediterranean Games and the European Championships.
