Eight medals and three individual awards for Montenegro at the 10th Junior Nations Cup

Ena Hot and Strahinja Mrdak marked the 10th Junior Nations Cup in Vrbas, winning prestigious awards for the best female and male boxer of the tournament in the under-17 age group. In addition to their individual awards, the Montenegrin national team achieved notable success by winning a total of eight medals – four gold, two silver and two bronze.

Among the most successful competitors was Nikola Ilić, who continued his string of top results after recently winning gold at the international tournament in Eger. In the under-15 boxers competition, in the 57 kg category, Ilić defeated Gavril Savić in the final. from Serbia and reached a new international gold. His technically flawless fights were also rewarded with a special award for the best technician of the tournament in the U15 age group.

Ena Hot gave a great performance, who won the gold medal in the 57 kg (U17) category after two convincing victories. In the first match, she defeated Nina Martić, while in the final she was better than Viktorija Jović, both from Serbia. Thanks to her excellent performances and the quality she showed, she was deservedly declared the best boxer of the tournament in the under-17 age group.

Strahinja Mrdak also won a gold medal in the 54 kg category. After a convincing victory over Azerbaijan's Eljan Musazad in the semi-finals, he defeated Ilhan Šaćirović from Serbia in the final. Dominant fights throughout the tournament earned him the award for the best boxer in the U17 age group.

The fourth gold medal for Montenegro was won by Nikola Raičević in the 57 kg category. On his way to the most prestigious medal, he defeated Andrej Račić. from Serbia, and then in the finals against Azerbaijan's national team player Ali Jamalzad, confirming his excellent form and quality.

Silver medals were won by Veselin Dedić and Vasilije Bugarin. Dedić was defeated in the final in the 75 kg category by Azerbaijan's Yusif Agakishiyev., while the Bulgarian, after his victory over Ognjen Ćurčić from Serbia, lost to Mehran Rasulov from Azerbaijan in the final of the over 80 kg category.

Bronze medals went to Ivan Tijanić and Andrija Nikitović. Tijanić won in the 63 kg category against Miloš Tijanić of Serbia before being stopped by Vakil Gurbanov of Azerbaijan. Nikitović won bronze in the 60 kg category, where he was defeated in the semifinals by Ali Abasli. from Azerbaijan.

The Montenegrin performance was given special value by three individual awards. Nikola Ilić was named the best technician of the tournament in the U15 age group, Ena Hot was named the best female boxer, and Strahinja Mrdak was named the best male boxer in the U17 age group.

The Montenegrin national team at the tournament in Vrbas was led by coaches Boško Drašković and Slavko Mrdak. The achieved result once again confirms the quality of work with younger age categories and shows that Montenegrin boxing has a talented generation ready for great international achievements in the years to come.
