Dragoljub Fatić has been appointed sports director of the Karate Association, the association's Board of Directors decided.
The trophy karate player and coach served as the national team director for two terms, and currently serves as the sports director of the Balkan Karate Federation.
"This is one of the most recognizable and experienced sports workers in Montenegrin karate, a man who has dedicated his professional and sporting life to the development of karate and the affirmation of Montenegrin sports," the Karate Federation announced.
Fatić graduated from the College of Sports in 2010 and earned the title of a certified karate coach.
"In addition to his many years of coaching and selection work, he has significant experience in managing sports systems. He served as president of the Karate Federation," the statement said.
He holds a 6th DAN black belt, as well as the state award "Top Athlete of Montenegro", and behind him are decades of work and significant competitive, coaching and management results on the domestic and international scene.
"By appointing Dragoljub Fatić, the Karate Federation of Montenegro wants to further strengthen the sports sector and establish a high level of professional responsibility in the development of all potentials of the sport in which Montenegro belongs to the European top," the Karate Federation announced.
It is stated that his knowledge, experience and authority represent an important resource in the further development of the system, which must be based on expertise, clear criteria, accountability and results.
"The Karate Federation continues to strengthen its professional and organizational capacities, with a clear goal - creating a system that will enable Montenegrin karate to achieve continuity of international results and the position it deserves as one of the most trophy-winning sports in Montenegro," the association announced.
