Fantastic performances for our athletes at the European University Martial Arts Championships held in Tirana. Two medals for our taekwondo.

Andrea Berišaj (UDG) was defeated in the final of the 67 kg category by Turkey's Isil Zafer after a great fight, so she was awarded the silver medal. In the first round, she was the second seed in the tournament, then she defeated Portugal's Ariana Ramalho, and in the semifinals she was better than Turkey's Ceren Cetinel.

The silver medal also went to Andjela Berišaj from UDG, who competed in the over 73 kg category. She was defeated in the final by Turkey's Esra Akbulak. She had previously beaten Katerina Jane Hambleton from Great Britain, while in the semi-finals she defeated Spain's Lopes Jimenez.

Vasilije Nestorović, who competed in the 63 kg category, was also close to a medal. He was defeated in the quarterfinals by the representative of Turkey, who later won the European Student Championship. In the first round, Vasilije defeated Rafael Karenc from Italy.

Vuk Vuletić was stopped at the very beginning of the championship in the 74 kg category due to an injury, although he had an advantage over the Briton. Our fifth competitor in taekwondo, Vasilije Peruničić, did not compete due to illness.

"A great performance by our seniors. We are returning from the games richer for another great experience, especially knowing that we have entered among the three best student teams in Europe," said Vlado Stanišić, coach of our taekwondo team.

Our karatekas also achieved notable results. Mila Mraković was stopped in the quarterfinals of the individual kata by Portugal's representative Maria Cardoso after previously achieving three victories against representatives of Turkey (2) and Portugal, while our kata player Kenan Nikočević ended the competition with a defeat against the representative of Turkey.

Montenegro will have one more representative. Our last competitor at the European University Championships in Martial Arts will compete on Monday. Our judoka Aleksandar Tomić will take to the tatami in the 100 kg category.
