Wayne Rooney's drunkenness after the match between England and Scotland, faithfully depicted in the photos obtained by the tabloid San ("The Sun"), threatened the confidence of the Football Association of England (FA) in its national team members.
The FA is investigating San's allegations that ten national team players were clubbing until the early hours of the morning.
The leaders of the Association stated that they do not want to discipline anyone.
"Don't make a drama out of it. We've launched an investigation to check what happened. It's disappointing," FA executive director Martin Glenn said.
"It is appropriate that Rooney has apologised, but such behavior is unbecoming of the England captain."
Glen recalled the rules that were applied by the previous selectors of the English national team.
"The strict discipline under Fabio Capello, where the players were locked up, did not bring much success. Roy Hodgson introduced a more liberal approach. He was right, let's treat the players like adults. The best deal is when the players make their own rules and then work according to them. I think we're on the right track, we need to introduce a degree of trust and make sure that when we agree on something as a group, we stick to it."
England international players will still have free time during the day, but will be banned from going out at night while they have duties with the national team.
