Rudar - Bokelj, Budućnost - Grbalj, Petrovac - Sutjeska and Iskra - Lovćen are the pairs of the quarter-finals of the Cup of Montenegro, whose first matches will be played tomorrow at 13.30:XNUMX p.m.
Some teams, like Budućnosti, will try in the most massive competition to continue the great series from the championship, and some, like Rudar or Lovcen, will try to redeem themselves through the Cup for desperate games and results in the championship.
Buducnost is the favorite against Grblj - it defeated it both times in the championship this season (1:0 in Radanovići, recently under Gorica 2:0), won it six times in a row, and last season eliminated it in the Cup, then in the round of 13.30 . The leaders of the Podgorica club decided to give free entry to tomorrow's match near Gorica, which starts at XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.
"We have maximum ambitions in the Cup as well, which means that we approach this game extremely seriously. There are no calculations, the best team will play. Our plan is to achieve as convincing a victory as possible without conceding a goal. A result of 2:0 is something that guarantees us a calmer rematch in Radanovići ", said coach Miodrag Vukotić.
In the first game of the quarter-finals, Rudar, the defending champion, welcomes Bokelj, the same team that it eliminated last season in the semi-finals. The people of Pljevlja celebrated 1:0 in Kotor, which they then confirmed with a 2:0 triumph at their stadium.
Both of them, especially Rudar, are in weaker form this season...
"It is necessary for us to be right and record a victory, preferably without conceding a goal, which would make our job significantly easier before the rematch in Kotor. I hope that the attackers will finally work and that a patient and disciplined game will bring us a suitable result. We also want and to get revenge on the people of Kotor for the championship defeat. Anyway, this will only be the first half, while the accounts will be settled only after the second. If we are lucky, Rudar will spend the winter in the Cup and then the defense of the trophy is not far away either," says captain Miloš Radanović.
Sutjeska and Petrovac recently played without goals in the championship near Bistrica, and they open the doubleheader of the quarter-finals of the Cup with a duel under Mali Brda.
Three days ago, the team from Petrovac achieved their first victory of the season against Dečić on their home field, so they welcome the team from Nikšić in a good mood.
"We have a tough rival waiting for us, but we must not forget for a moment that the rematch in Nikšić is also coming up. At this stage of the competition, all the rivals are equal, and an ordinary detail in the complete double match can decide. That's why we have to be maximally concentrated in defense, and the attack is finally worked, which makes me extremely happy. It's important not to concede a goal at home, and I believe we can succeed in that," said Petrovac coach Aleksandar Nedović.
As of Saturday, Sutjeska is third in the championship, and with a possible placement in the semi-finals of the Cup, it could round off a solid autumn.
"We have ambitions on both fronts, that's why the maximum attention is currently on the first game with Petrovac. We will try to score a goal away from home, which would make it easier for us in the second leg," says Sutjeska coach Nebojša Jovović.
Iskra and Lovćen play their first match in Danilovgrad. Both of them have a similar problem, efficiency - the home team has not scored a goal in four matches in a row in the championship, and the guests have not scored in five. All together - nine games without a goal before the first duel in the quarterfinals.
