At the right time, at the beginning of the season, two Montenegrin footballers shone in their clubs - Marko Vešović and Luka Đorđević. The Montenegrin national team could benefit greatly in the qualifiers, which started with an encouraging draw in Romania.
On Sunday, Vešović played against Dinamo Zagreb, a participant of the Champions League, in the big derby of Croatian football, playing the game of his career - two goals and assists are something new in his repertoire, which in recent years has included a lot of running, penetration, dribbling and crosses. but there was no such concrete effect in the ending.
Even when he moved from Budućnost to Zvezda in 2010, then as a 19-year-old, Vešović showed that he had potential, after all, he didn't sign a contract with Torino by chance. His attacking "explosion", which happened two nights ago, is most probably due to continuity, as well as the security he feels in the team - this season, he played all nine games for Rijeka and is Matjaž Kek's most important man in the attempt overthrowing Dinamo from the throne.
The team from Kantrida is first in the table with four points more than the current champion of Croatia.
That Vešović, now 25 years old, is a career footballer, he showed recently against Romania in Cluj at the start of the qualifiers. Just as Kek believes in him, so does Montenegrin national team coach Ljubiša Tumbaković, who successfully tested him in May's friendly match against Turkey in Antalya.
In the game against the Romanians, Vešović played an excellent game and there is every chance that Montenegro solved the issue of the right wing, which was extremely sensitive in the previous two cycles. After all, he was mainly played by Fatos Bećiraj - a classic striker.
The issue of the left wing, or left midfielder, is also sensitive and Tumbakovic has not yet resolved it. Marko Bakić stood on the left wing against Romania, which is also not a natural position for him. In the last half hour, Stefan Mugoša entered - a natural attacker, who had to chase the opponent's defender, while at the same time trying to help the attack.
Will Tumbakovic get the right solution in Luka Đorđević on the left wing?
The Zenit striker plays like a reborn at the beginning of the season, admittedly as a wild card, but in a big club - he has already decided two crucial games for the team from St. Petersburg, and is slowly but surely gathering minutes. Ten minutes or half an hour, it doesn't matter - coach Mircea Lućescu counts on him in every match, both in Europe and in the national championship.
Đorđević made his debut for the senior national team of Montenegro in 2012, he also scored against San Marino, but since then he mostly played for the youth team, as he got lost a bit in loans.
When he played, he often attacked the opponent's goal on the left side, and due to his excellent running abilities, he can also successfully respond on the left wing. More precisely, to "cover" the entire left side - to help the defenders, and at the same time be dangerous for the opponent's goal.
The young Montenegrin national team lost its chances in the Euro qualifiers, the October match with Belgium will only be a showcase, but even if it is not like that - Đorđević will return to the senior national team on October 8 against Kazakhstan and three days later against Denmark in Copenhagen, which is games in Zenit at the beginning of the season definitely deserved.
