The football team gathered in Podgorica, the operation Romania has officially started.
"Brave Falcons" are waiting for a clash with Romanians on Sunday - it's too early to say, but the match in Cluj could direct events in the group when it comes to Ljubiša Tumbaković's team.
"We are looking forward to being together after preparations with the clubs. We are motivated, ready for a new proving in a new cycle. It is important that we open it in the right way, with the best possible result. We have an opponent who is quite strong, which he showed by qualifying for the European Championship, where he played good football in the group, even though he did not pass. The Romanians also have a motive to prove themselves to the new coach, it won't be easy at all, especially since we are playing on their field. It is up to us to prepare as well as possible in these few days, and the most important thing is that injuries bypass us," said Rijeka footballer Marko Vešović.
Armenia, Denmark, Kazakhstan and Poland are also in the group with Montenegro and Romania.
"The group can be deceiving at first glance. Maybe people think that it is not attractive, that there is no too strong opponent. There is no doubt that it can play with everyone, it's all up to us, the approach in every match, and we showed that we can play with everyone. If we enter in the right way, we can play a good game, if we relax or underestimate the opponent at some point, it can certainly go to our heads. Motive, togetherness and belief in success will certainly guide us through this cycle," he said. Vešović added:
"I am happy and glad to be able to play with the guys I played with in the younger categories. We have a great desire to prove ourselves in every game, especially the ones we play in Podgorica, and to be part of the national team for as long as possible".
How can Vešović help the national team - as a right back or a winger?
"It's an eternal question for me. In the last few games for the national team I played on the wing, so let it be, but at the club I play everything. It's good that I can meet the demands of several positions, but I would prefer to be a winger". Vešović is clear.
And what result would satisfy Montenegro in Cluj?
"The most important thing is not to lose. A point can be a positive result in some respect. We will do our best to try to win, but it is always important to return from away games without defeat," concluded Vešović.
The first training was done by Mladen Božović, Milan Mijatović (goalkeepers), Vešović, Filip Raičević, Vladimir Boljević, Stevan Jovetić, Damir Kojašević, Nemanja Mijušković, Aleksandar Šofranac, Nemanja Nikolić, Stefan Mugoša, Nikola Vukčević, Marko Baša, Marko Simić, Vladimir Jovović. and Žarko Tomašević.
