Champion Mladost knowingly remains without two of the most important footballers in the attack - Marko Šćepanović and Ivan Vuković left the team from Stari aerodrome, after their contracts expired.
As could be heard, there were no discussions with the club's management about a possible extension of cooperation.
Marko Šćepanović (33) marked the most successful era of the Podgorica club in independent Montenegro. Last year, he was one of the most deserving of winning the Cup, when in the FSCG poll he was declared the best football player of the Telekom 1st CFL.
Last season, he was the best scorer of the team and of the entire championship, helping Nikola Rakojević's team to win the championship title.
Despite everything, the cooperation ends.
Šćepanović wore the Mladost jersey since 2012, with one break (season 2012/13), when he stayed in Iran's Persepolis.
Last summer, Ivan Vuković (29) scored a goal against Azerbaijan's Nefči in the last minute to take Mladost to the 2nd round of qualification for the Europa League. Shortly after that, he went to Israel, but Zimus returned again and won the championship title with the team from Podgorica.
In addition to Šćepanović and Vuković, defender Ilija Glavan left Mladost, whose contract also expired.
The champion is obviously preparing a major reconstruction ahead of the qualification for the LŠ. The club leaders have arranged the arrivals of Blaž Igumanović (Polish Zawiša is also arriving), Bojan Lazarević (Dečić) and Miljan Vlaisavljević (Zeta), and more arrivals and departures are being announced...
Coach Nikola Rakojević, on the other hand, is close to an agreement with the club on the continuation of cooperation.
On June 20, Mladost will be in the drum for the draw of the 2nd round of Champions League qualification. Potential rivals are Red Star, Celtic, Steaua, Ludogorets, Legija and many other champions of much stronger European leagues than the Montenegrin one...
