Mladost striker Marko Šćepanović was presented today with the Radio Montenegro Trophy, which is awarded to the best scorer of the Telekom First Montenegrin Football League.
In 2013, Radio Montenegro launched a trophy campaign for the best scorer in the First Montenegrin Football League.
Šćepanović finished the Montenegrin championship with 19 goals scored.
"When I draw the line for this season, I can say that it was completely mine, on a personal level. I was named the best football player in 2015, I am in the ideal team of the season and now the best scorer. Perhaps this is my last award and my favorite, because most sealed the title," Šćepanović said at the award ceremony.
He thanked his teammates and coaches at the club, stating that without them there would be no trophy.
The award was presented to Šćepanović by the doyen of Montenegrin radio journalism, Željko Šoć.
The editor of the sports newsroom of Radio Montenegro, Radislav Tvrdišić, said that despite the many difficulties, this media is the quickest to inform about the events on the first league pitches in Montenegro.
"Our trophy is the appropriate value of the golden boot in some other football competitions. We disclosed the idea of the Trophy four years ago, and today we presented it for the third time. Three or four years is enough for us, when it comes to action, to stand on our feet, to walk , we put on our football boots and play on. We will do our work with a microphone, even if it is the one on the mobile phone," said Tvrdišić.
He reminded that Radio is the first electronic media in Montenegro with a 65-year tradition of sports, specifically football broadcasts.
The director of Radio Montenegro, Radojica Bulatović, said that radio is a beautiful device that speaks and bears witness.
"The trophy is a beautiful thing that testifies to success in sports and football. It will be a beautiful memory one day," said Bulatović.
The president of the Football Association, Dejan Savićević, said that the Radio Montenegro Trophy has the support of that association.
"Support to Radio to continue broadcasting football matches and that the sports and football public can follow the events of football matches. Congratulations to Šćepanović, who last season and this season was one of the best, if not the best, player in Montenegro. Ove was the best scorer." , said Savićević.
The first trophy in the 2013/14 season was won by Stefan Mugoša in the Mladost jersey, while last year's best goal scorer was Sutjeska Goran Vujović.
His closest competitors were Zeta striker Darko Bjedov with 18, Dejan Zarubica from Sutjeska with 16 and Boris Kopitović from Petrovac with 13 goals.
For their contribution to the media promotion of the project, Radio Montenegro presented certificates of appreciation to the editorial offices of the Mina agency, the portals of Radio Television of Montenegro and Vijesti, as well as a special recognition to Branko Vujisić, a long-time commentator of the Television of Montenegro.
