Nedović: I'm not worried about the result, if we continue like this

Unlike most of the first league players, who today moved to warmer regions, Sutjeska's footballers have been preparing for a long time - Aleksandar Nedović's team has been in Igalo for six days, playing friendly matches and preparing for the second part of the season.

"The conditions are phenomenal for this time of the year, from the hotel, to the condition of the fields, to the host who goes out of his way to meet us," reports Nedović.

Although he has been at the helm of Nikšić for six months, for Nedović this is the first preparation and the first real opportunity to prepare the team and create a base for the second half of the season. This summer, the 37-year-old coach took over the team without any preparations, just ten days before the start of the championship.

Along with the departure of a large number of (key) football players, and the serious injury of Stevan Kovačević, that was also the main reason for the not very great placement - only 6th place in the table, which is the worst position of Nikšić in the half-season in the last four years.

"The biggest advantage is that for literally every player I know where he starts, at what level of physical fitness he is, and at what level he will be when the preparations are over. And that is the most important prerequisite for making a game and for timing the form".

The people of Nikšić are constantly recruiting new footballers. The reinforcements are mainly in the midfield (returnee Jovan Nikolić, Veljko Vuković and Zoran Milovac), which also reflects Nedović's determination to achieve better results through the game. Apart from them, the new Sutjeska footballers are goalkeeper Giljen and guard Miloš Radulović.

"The new footballers fit in faster than we expected, and that is the merit of the footballers who welcomed them. It all speaks of the atmosphere in the team, which is phenomenal," adds Nedović.

The list of new footballers is most likely closed.

"We already have a formed team and we will only bring in another player if a footballer who is interesting to us and who would really be a reinforcement appears on the market".

And the first friendly matches are an announcement that Sutjeska could play better football in the spring - the "blue and white" have already defeated Dečić and Leotar (2:0 each), and today they are meeting with Metalac. Until the end of the preparations, they will also meet with OFK Belgrade, Grbl...

"If we continue like this, I'm not worried about the result at all. I'm convinced that Sutjeska will be a better team in the spring than the one from the autumn part of the season. We want fourth place and eventual placement in Europe, I believe we're capable of achieving that," concludes Nedović.

Zeta and Iskra on preparations in Ulcinj

Not counting the coastal clubs, Petrovac, Mornar, Bokelj and Grbalj, who train in their bases, as well as Dečić, whose footballers started training later due to back wages, all other Montenegrin first league players have left, or are planning to leave for preparations.

The first-placed clubs went abroad - Mladost and Rudar traveled to Antalya, Turkey, and Budućnost, much closer, to Međugorje (Bosnia and Herzegovina).

Sutjeska has been in Igalo for six days, while Ulcinj has been hosting Zeta and Iskra football players since today. The Lovćen football players will be the last ones out of their city, who will descend on Budva on Thursday.
