Jonas agreed to continue cooperation with Benfica

During the transfer window, Jonas had several offers from England, Germany, Spain and Italy, but he decided to stay in Lisbon.

On Friday evening, the Brazilian reached an agreement with Luis Filipe Vieira, the president of Benfica, regarding the extension of his contract.

His current one expires at the end of the season, and in the next few days he will sign a new one until June 2018.

He arrived in Portugal last summer from Valencia, and in 39 matches last season he hit the net 34 times.

He started his career in Guarani, and also played for Santos, Gremio and Portugese.

He played eight games for the national team (two goals).
