Sutjeska and coach Mile Tomić mutually ended their cooperation after a series of bad results in the second part of the season, Nikšić club sports director Nikola Jovović confirmed to "Vijesta".
In five spring rounds, the people of Nikšić recorded only one victory, with two defeats and a draw.
Tomić, who already resigned once, after the defeat against Budućnost at the opening of the second part of the championship, this time will not return...
"A consensual termination of cooperation was reached, and Mile Tomic himself realized that the result was missing, and that this is practically the only solution possible in football to stop the bad series," Jovović said.
A lot of bad luck befell Nikšić in the second part of the season, from Andrija Delibašić's suspension after only two games, to a half-year suspension for captain Vladimir Jovović, due to hitting the referee in the derby against Budućnost.
As a result - the two-time consecutive champion fell out of the race for the title after only five spring rounds, because the leading Rudar has a ten-point advantage, and Mladost and Buducnost are ahead.
The people of Nikšić, however, have a chance to win a trophy, and one that they haven't won yet - the semi-finals of the Cup await them, and placement in Europe remains the goal.
They will try to achieve it with a new coach.
"We are looking for a new coach, we have to react quickly. I wouldn't want to mention names, but I hope we will have a coach soon," concluded Jovović.
Tomić took over Sutjeska last summer, instead of Dragan Radojičić, who won two consecutive titles with Nikšić.
"Blue and white" played solid football in the first part of the season, despite being four points behind the leader Rudar. However, the problems started with the beginning of the second part of the championship...
